Maui Fair Parade Application Deadline Approaching

Preparations are now underway for the 92nd Maui Fair, and applications are now available to participate in the opening day parade.
The Maui Fair parade is scheduled to take place at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014.
The parade is touted as the biggest on the Valley Isle, and traditionally features participation from various community groups, organizations and businesses.
Applications are available for download online at the Maui Fair website and can be dropped off at the Maui Fair office, located in the parking lot of the War Memorial Gymnasium in Wailuku between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. (Call 242-2721 in advance to make sure someone is at the office.)
The parade extends along Kaʻahumanu Avenue, beginning at UH Maui College, and ending at War Memorial Stadium on Kanaloa Avenue.
The parade marks the official start of the 2014 Fab Fair that runs from October 2 to 5, 2014.

- Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 by 2 p.m. – Parade Application Deadline
- Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., mandatory Parade meeting at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Alexa Higashi Meeting Room
- Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 – Parade starts 4:30 p.m.

The Maui Fair was first celebrated on Maui in 1916, and has since grown to include an attendance estimated at 95,000 people. The family-friendly event features multicultural food, entertainment, an EK Fernandez Joy Zone, plus horticulture, bonsai, livestock, homemaking, photo and art exhibits and competitions.
