Volunteers Sought to Help with West Maui Thanksgiving Lunch
By Wendy Osher
Volunteers are being sought to help with the Hard Rock Cafe Maui’s 24th Annual Free Thanksgiving Lunch for the Homeless, Hungry and Those in Need on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The free meal is available to anyone who shows up (no reservations are needed), and no one will be turned away, said Ryan Beenken, Operations Manager of Sales & Marketing for the Hard Rock Cafe Maui.
Beenken said volunteers are needed to help greet, seat, serve and clear tables. They will be asked to arrive at 10:30 a.m. before the luncheon begins, and attend a brief meeting at 10:45 a.m. prior to food service.
The free luncheon is offered in partnership with the West Maui Salvation Army, Feed My Sheep, Women Helping Women, and A Cup of Cold Water.
According to Beenken, many of the vendors used for the event donate most of the items. Vendors secured for this year’s Thanksgiving luncheon include: Hansen Foodservice, HFM Foodservice, Pacific Gourment/Sunfresh, Love’s Bakery, and Da Kine Herb Farm.
Anyone that is interested in volunteering is asked to contact Ryan Beenken via email at Ryan_Beenken@hardrock.com, or via phone at (808) 667-2578.
