About the Position:
This is a 10-month, full-time position focused on coqui frog control with the potential for permanent employment and work on other crews in the future. The position includes:
- Working outside, making a difference in the community and for the environment.
- Training on all equipment, including driving 4 wheel drive vehicles with trailers
- Opportunities for certifications including forklift, chainsaw, and wilderness first aid
- Engaging with homeowners and residents to access properties.
- Physical activity including hiking off-trail hiking and carrying up to 50 pounds

What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Familiarity with Hawaiian plants, animals, and natural history, or an eagerness to learn.
- Understanding of the threats posed by invasive species.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to handle pesticides and herbicides.
- Personal Traits:
- Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Strong desire to protect Maui’s environment and community.
Work Schedule & Location:
- Location: Crews are based in Pā‘ia and respond to coqui populations across Maui, with most work centered in Haiku.
- Shifts: Monday–Thursday, 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM (shift adjusts to 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM during winter months).
