About the Position:

This is a 10-month, full-time position focused on coqui frog control with the potential for permanent employment and work on other crews in the future.  The position includes:

• Working outside, making a difference in the community and for the environment. 
• Training on all equipment, including driving 4 wheel drive vehicles with trailers 
• Opportunities for certifications including forklift, chainsaw, and wilderness first aid
• Engaging with homeowners and residents to access properties.
• Physical activity including hiking off-trail hiking and carrying up to 50 pounds

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Hawaiian plants, animals, and natural history, or an eagerness to learn.
  • Understanding of the threats posed by invasive species.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to handle pesticides and herbicides.
• Personal Traits:
  • Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong desire to protect Maui’s environment and community.

Work Schedule & Location:

• Location: Crews are based in Pā‘ia and respond to coqui populations across Maui, with most work centered in Haiku.
• Shifts: Monday–Thursday, 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM (shift adjusts to 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM during winter months).
