Hui Malama Learning Center Receives ʻOhana Fuels Donation
Hui Malama Learning Center received a $7,491.14 donation from Hawaiʻi Petroleum through its ʻOhana Fuels “Fuel Up. Do Good” Community Giving Program.
In the first quarter 2015, a portion of sales from ʻOhana Fuels TOP TIER fuel efficient gasoline was designated for donation to Hui Malama Learning Center’s enrichment programs.
In addition to the funds raised through this program, ʻOhana Fuels also provided Hui Malama with the Minit Stop location and equipment to conduct car wash fundraisers, which also helped to raise funds.
The funds donated by ʻOhana Fuels will enable the school to expand academic and mentoring programs, as well as community service projects.
“The mission of our Giving Program is to help meet the needs of the communities we serve by supporting nonprofit organizations that improve the overall quality of life,” said Kimo Haynes, president of Hawaiʻi Petroleum Inc. ʻOhana Fuels proudly sponsors programs that enhance the vitality of our neighborhoods, celebrate our community’s success, and support local charities.”
Partnering with successful local businesses like Hawaiʻi Petroleum is a critical component of Hui Malama’s new workforce preparedness project, which was made possible through the County of Maui and GIA funding.
