Chef Roy Yamaguchi Leads Culinary Tour of Japan
In what’s being called an “epic culinary adventure,” renown chef Roy Yamaguchi of Roy’s Restaurants is leading an intimate group to explore Japan’s culinary scene. Hawaiʻi Food & Wine Festival and Authentescapes are presenting “Tokyo to Tokachi” from July 20 to 27, 2016, an exclusive opportunity to learn about elements of Japanese cuisine under the guidance of Yamaguchi. The tour will start in Tokyo, then share the natural beauty of Kyoto, as professional guides take visitors “on a discovery of the great environmental splendor of Japan’s many temples, mountains and lakes,” according to the flyer.
There’s also a pre-trip to the farming community of Tokachi from July 17 to 20, 2016, when tour members will experience a different side of Japanese food in a rural farm-to-table setting.
