Tickets go on sale at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center Box Office this Saturday, Oct. 24, for UB40 Reunited in concert, scheduled at The MACC’s A&B Amphitheater on Saturday, Jan. 30.

UB40 helped define reggae music for a generation, producing multiple Top 10, No. 1, gold and platinum albums; earning multiple Grammy nominations; and creating hits worldwide including Red Red Wine, I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, I Got You Babe and Here I Am (Come and Take Me). The band has sold more than 70 million units worldwide.

The band, formed in 1979 in Birmingham, England, pooling a diverse set of influences to put a fresh, indigenous slant on Jamaican reggae.

After encouragement from Chrissie Hynde, who offered them support slots with her chart-topping band, The Pretenders, they recorded their independently released debut album, Signing Off, which became an unexpected No. 2 album and gave them the conviction to chart their own course.

Audiences are once again able to experience the sound of this hugely successful original lineup of UB40. They’ll also get to hear these UK reggae pioneers’ latest take on the reggae genre. Their newest album, Silhouette, is an inspired mix of freshly minted new songs and sparkling, “reggaefied” cover versions of classics by the Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Chi-Lites and others.

Tickets are $49; a limited number of VIP tickets are available for $89 (plus applicable fees). Tickets purchased on the day of the show will be $10 more.

Visit The MACC Box Office: In person at One Cameron Way, Kahului (near the intersection of Kahului Beach Road and Wahinepio Avenue). The MACC is situated across from the University of Hawai‘i Maui College campus and adjacent to Keopuolani Park.

Call The MACC Box Office: (808) 242-SHOW (7469). Box Office windows and phone lines are open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
