The upper​ half-mile of the Pīpīwai Trail​ in the Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park,​ including the viewpoint for Waimoku Falls, is now open​ to visitors.

The upper trail has been closed since September 2016 due to severe storm damage.

All trails in the park are considered moderately challenging​.​

Sturdy shoes are recommended for hiking​. Always bring water, sunscreen and stay on trail to​ protect fragile ecosystems and​ ​stay safe.
