Looking Ahead
A front over Maui is forecast to linger through Saturday and then fall apart. Numerous showers are forecast to occur in association with this front. The rainfall will be mainly for windward areas of Maui County. Breezy trade winds will push some showers over into leeward areas from time to time. A disturbance high in the atmosphere is forecast to pass over the island chain Saturday, and could trigger some locally heavier showers along the front. Trade winds are expected to gradually weaken during the weekend and into early next week.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected with frequent showers in the morning and numerous showers in the afternoon. Leeward spots are forecast to get numerous showers in the morning and scattered showers in the afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall is possible in the morning. High temperatures from 77° to 82°. Northeast winds around 15 to 25 mph. Sunday, scattered showers are expected for windward areas and clear skies for leeward spots with northeast winds around 15 mph.
