Center for Tropical and Subtropical Aquaculture Seminar

Dr. Cheng-Sheng Lee, Ph.D., executive director of the Center for Tropical and Subtropical Aquaculture (CTSA), will present “CTSA, Aquaculture, And YOU!” on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the University of Hawai‘i Maui College.

CTSA is one of five regional aquaculture centers in the United States established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The regional aquaculture centers integrate individual and institutional expertise and resources in support of commercial aquaculture development.

Based on O‘ahu, the center supports a wide range of aquaculture projects across the region, including sustainable aquatic feeds development, disease mitigation, aquaponics, propagation of new species and more.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how this valuable resource can be utilized to increase sustainable food production on Maui.

Dr. Lee will discuss the program’s research, extension, and education efforts and opportunities in Hawai’i and the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands.

The seminar will be held in the CSB Building, Room 205, next to Cooperative Extension Building 214.

UHMC is located at 310 W. Ka‘ahumanu Ave. in Kahului.
