Call for Commercial Guided Astronomy and Hiking Tours at Haleakalā

Haleakalā National Park will begin accepting applications for guided astronomy and hiking tour Commercial Use Authorizations, valid for up to two years.
Applications are available beginning Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, and all applications must be received by the park by close of business on Oct. 24, 2018.
The numbers and types of commercial tour services appropriate for the front-country areas of the park are identified in the park’s Commercial Services Plan which also specifies the maximum number of permits to be issued – up to four astronomy tour permits and up to six guided hiking tour permits.
If there are more qualified applicants than the maximum allowed, a competitive process will be used to evaluate and award CUAs.
