Crews from the state Department of Transportation cleared a landslide on Hāna Highway at mile marker 11 on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019.  The road conditions were the result of heavy rains reported over Maui as the island felt impacts from a flood watch that remained in effect through the afternoon.  The National Weather Service said a band of deep moisture moved over the eastern half of the state and stalled over parts of Maui on Tuesday.  The inclement weather also resulted in the continued closure of Baldwin Beach Park along Maui’s North Shore and the Lahaina Aquatic Center in West Maui.
