Van Crashes, Submerged in Lahaina Swimming Pool

Maui firefighters responded to reports this morning of a van that crashed in to the swimming pool at the Lahaina Roads Apartments in West Maui.  The incident was reported at 9:07 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019.

Upon arrival on scene, fire personnel found a white Ford van fully submerged in the pool.

Maui Fire Services Chief Rylan Yatsushiro said the single occupant of the vehicle, described as a 78-year-old Lahaina man, was already out of the pool and in good condition with a laceration to his arm.

Firefighters treated the man until the arrival of Medics.

MFS Chief Yatsushiro said that at this time, the department does not have information regarding the events which led up to this incident.

Engine 3 from Lahaina responded to the scene.
