Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is seeking vendors for the debut of its latest signature event, 808 Bash, happening on Saturday, Aug. 24.

Cities across the nation have been transforming their area codes into holidays to boost local pride and foster community spirit. These unique events, typically held on dates that correspond with the area code, offer residents a chance to come together and honor their distinctive identity and culture.

808 Day is Hawaiʻi’s day of celebration, traditionally observed on Aug. 8. However, in recognition of the anniversary of the Maui wildfires, Queen Kaʻahumanu Center will host their 808 Bash on Saturday, Aug. 24.

“We have seen many celebrations of our community representing ‘the 808 state’ and we’re excited to launch 808 Bash at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center as a platform for this Hawaiʻi pride,” said Kauwela Bisquera, general manager of Queen Kaʻahumanu Center. “We’re actively seeking local vendors, artists, and cultural organizations to join us in making this debut event a success.”

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center encourages musicians, food vendors, cultural non-profit organizations, or those interested in hosting a cultural workshop to apply to be part of the celebration.
