$7.2 Million Released for Maui Dialysis Unit
More than $7.2 million in state funding was released today for improvements at Maui Memorial Medical Center. The funding will be used to finance the construction and equipment for a new dialysis unit at Maui Memorial Medical Center. The project is expected to begin in October 2010 and be competed by May of 2011.
Governor Linda Lingle also released $410,000 for the design and construction to reroof the main building at Maluhia Hospital on Oahu. The facility is focused on long-term care and also features a skilled nursing center. The project is expected to begin this month and be completed in February of 2011.
“Ensuring residents have access to affordable and quality health care continues to be a priorty for my Administration,” said Lingle. “These projects are part of our ongoing commitment to help improve the delivery of health care services, as well as ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors,” said Lingle.
Combined, the Maui and Oahu allocations for improvements to Hawaii Health Systems Corporation facilities total $7.61 million.
