Police Seek Help in Alleged Credit Card Theft Case in Waikapū

Maui police have released surveillance photos of a male individual wanted for questioning in a home burglary and unauthorized use of a credit card case.

According to police reports, an unknown male individual unlawfully entered a Waikapū home between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, and stole several items valued at $2,040, and several bank cards.

On the same day, at around 10:30 a.m., police say an unknown male depicted in the attached photographs allegedly attempted to use one of the stolen cards at an ATM located at Bank of Hawaii Wailuku branch on Main Street.

Maui police released the surveillance images today in an attempt to gather more information in the case.

If anyone has information regarding the identity of the male depicted in the photographs, they can contact the Maui Police Department at 244-6437.

Maui Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of individuals in unsolved felony crimes; the recovery of stolen property or seizure of illegal drugs in felony cases; or the capture of felony fugitives.

The public should consider should not approach, follow or take other action that could put themselves in danger.

The public is reminded that the information provided by authorities is merely an accusation, and all parties are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
