Attempted Theft of ATM at Maui Mall Results in $20,000 Damage

Maui Police are investigating the attempted theft of an ATM machine at the Maui Mall in Kahului over the weekend.
Police say two unknown suspects drove into the Maui Mall and pulled an ATM out from its anchors in the ground at around 7 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014.
According to police reports, the suspects allegedly attempted to load the ATM within their vehicle, but were unsuccessful and fled the area.
As a result of this incident, police say damages to the ATM were estimated at $20,000.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
