If you’re in the mood for an adventurous, yet personable fine dining experience, Trilogy Excursions has you covered. The Maui-based sailing company now offers the “Captain’s Sunset Dinner Sail,” a four-course meal aboard their 65-foot luxury catamaran, complete with candlelight, private tables, and the open sea.

The 2.5-hour, adults-only excursion departs from Mā‘alaea Harbor and treats couples to a gourmet dinner crafted on-board by executive Chef William Bailey of Maui Flavors, using locally grown and sourced ingredients.

“People who think they can only eat gourmet in a restaurant, are completely mislead,” said Chef Bailey. “I suppose it’s our job to shift that paradigm; to give people an incredible meal with an unbeatable view… that makes a dinner worth remembering.”

Like any fine restaurant on land, the ship is fully staffed with a bartender, maître d’, and wait staff to accommodate guests of the occasion. Premium adult beverages, including local and domestic beers, wine, original cocktails, and champagne, are available. After sunset, guests are treated to a celestial narrative on wayfaring by the captain himself.

“We want each couple on board to feel like they’ve been invited to a dinner on a private yach,” said Captain Gabe Lucy. “Because we limit our capacity to only 20 couples, we can deliver a high-quality, personalized experience that other large dinner cruises can’t.”
