Maui Fish’n Chips to Hold Grand Opening on Saturday

Maui Fish’n Chips in South Kīhei will hold its grand opening on Saturday, July 11, 2015, starting at 11 a.m.
Maui Fish’n Chips, comprised of a group of local investor friends, has recruited food developer Dion Abbott, the original recipe developer for Alexander’s Fish & Chips. He has revived and refined the recipes for the family restaurant.
Maui Fish’n Chips offers only high-quality fish, service with aloha and reasonable prices–meals are in the mid-price range of around $6.99 per serving.“I have seen many places come and go in my 30 years on Maui,” said Abbott. “It is my goal to reinvent and renew one of the most beloved concepts of the past with my people and their children. It’s time to give back.””Many of us have fond memories of delicious and affordable food–we want to bring some back to Maui” said Head Chef Mark “Marz” Hoyt.Hoyt worked at 5 Palms prior to joining the Maui Fish’n Chips team.
“Our commitment is to provide a friendly gathering place to enjoy quality food” said Kevin Bell, the launch manager.
Bell worked in a Michelin Star restaurant in Napa prior to joining the Maui Fish’n Chips team.
“I have returned home to Maui so I can bring back the aloha I remember growing up,” said General Manager Jeremy Boshart.
Boshart was a former team member at Alexander’s Fish & Chips.
Maui Fish’n Chips grills or fries its food in its famous batter. The menu includes mahi, ahi, ono, basa, shrimp, calamari, chicken, onion rings, volcano fries, garlic fries, curry fries, furikake fries, rice, mushrooms and zucchini.
With a range of specialty sauces, honoring the creativity of culinary arts and Maui’s unique culture, Maui Fish’n Chips offers nearly endless combinations.
The restaurant also offers a range of meal options, from personal “Mini” and “Boat” sizes, to family “Tub” and “Titanic” sizes, which feed up to 10 people.
A $20 gift certificate giveaway drawing will be held every every hour on the hour, open to close.
The new restaurant is located directly across from Kamaʻole I Beach in Dolphin Plaza at 2395 South Kīhei Road, Ste. #110.
