OHA Awards Grant to Hui No Ke Ola Pono
Hui No Ke Ola Pono, Maui’s Native Hawaiian Health Care System, is the recipient of a $6,000 ‘Ahahui Grant grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
The award will fund the organization’s 2nd Annual ‘Aha Mauliola – A Native Hawaiian Wellness Gathering on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Hawai‘i Maui College campus.
‘Aha Mauliola is a community initiative established by HNKOP to explore the many ways traditional Hawaiian culture and practices can support and encourage health and wellness.
This unique event brings together the Native Hawaiian and Maui community for keiki activities, cultural workshops, health screenings and speakers, free keiki dental services, entertainment, food, crafts and more utilizing Native Hawaiian values, beliefs and practices to enhance lifestyle choices.
Native Hawaiian groups, organizations, resource vendors and cultural practitioners are invited to participate and provide outreach and share with the community their services and crafts.
Applications are now available and the deadline is Friday, July 12, 2019. Space is limited and based on availability.
