Missing person: Woman’s belongings found along side of road in Central Maui

Marina Bonofiglio

The Maui Police Department is seeking the public’s help with any information on the whereabouts of Marina Bonofiglio, 33, of Kahului.

Bonofiglio was reported missing on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024, by a friend after she called for a ride from the area of Pūlehu Road in Kahului, approximately 0.1 mile northwest of the Central Maui Landfill at approximately 4 a.m.  Upon their arrival, Bonofiglio’s friends were unable to locate her, but they did find her personal belongings, including her cell phone, along the side of the road.  A search was conducted in the immediate area where Bonofiglio’s property was found; however, there were no signs of her, according to police.

Bonofiglio does not have a vehicle, and her friends are concerned for her safety and well-being.

Bonofiglio is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, 115 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.  It is unknown what type of clothing/footwear she was last wearing.

Anyone with information on Bonofiglio’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Maui Police Department’s non-emergency number at 808-244-6400; if it is an emergency, dial 911 and refer to MPD report number 24-024639.
