The Department of Health has suspended the permit for the popular Kanemitsu Bakery on Moloka‘i for allegedly producing baked goods manufactured at the facility under unsanitary conditions.

The popular Kanemitsu Bakery on Molokai, known for its famous sweet bread, was issued a $90,000 fine from the state Department of Health. On March 9, the DOH determined that the bakery had successfully corrected its major violations and has since been allowed to continue its business.
