MPD: Suspect Uses a Golf Club to Strike Bicyclist in “Unprovoked Attack” in Ha‘ikū, Maui

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, between 9:30 and 10 p.m., a male was riding his bicycle on Haʻikū Road when he was confronted by another male operating a newer model white pickup truck, possibly a Toyota.  Police say the suspect exited the vehicle and struck the bicyclist with a golf club several times, causing injury.

"To date we have had 337 impaired driving arrests which include 17 Habitual impaired driving arrests, compared to 342 impaired driving arrests this same time last year.
