Gerard's is hosting a wine pairing dinner on May 20, featuring wines from Rhone/Provence.

It seems every restaurant these days is having a pairing dinner. From the Four Seasons to the Grand Wailea to Japengo to I’o, the concept is certainly a fashionable one. After all, in a place like Maui, where fresh cuisine meets inspiring settings time and time again, the idea of lingering over a multiple-course dinner and sampling fine spirits doesn’t sound too bad.

That’s why it isn’t surprising that Gerard’s, Lahaina’s celebrated French eatery, is hosting yet another wine pairing dinner on May 20, this one influenced by Rhone/Provence. However, Gerard’s didn’t just jump on the bandwagon. This wine pairing dinner is one of many; past events have featured wine and food from both Loire Valley and Burgundy. And there simply is no better commander-in-chief to trust in the wine pairing dinner than owner Gerard Reversade, who is from Gascony and naturally shines at events that highlight the food and the wines of his country. Still, being that the dinner will take place on Maui, there are sure to be island innovations, starting with beef from Maui Cattle Co. and lavender from Kula.

The menu will feature:
