Maui Kumu Hula Uluwehi Guerrero announced that he will be opening “hula lite” classes with Hālau Hula Kauluokalā for adult men and women in February.

The class features instruction in hula ʻauana only (no ancient or kahiko instruction), and is for dancers who already have hula experience.  There are no beginner classes being offered at this time, and interested individuals must have knowledge of hula basics.

According to a hālau announcement, the classes begin on Feb. 4, 2016, and are set up for adults who cannot make a full hālau commitment but still want to have hula in their lives. There will be no fundraising, performance, or protocol commitments for the new “hula lite” classes.
