Vehicle Thefts on Maui Nov. 27 to Dec. 3, 2011

Four of the incidents were in Kihei. The rest of the car thefts were spread throughout the island with individual incidents reported in Kahului, Makawao, Pukalani, and Wailuku. Two of the vehicles stolen have since been recovered.

There were a total of seven vehicle break-ins on Maui over a seven day period between November 20 and 26, 2011. Five of the incidents were in Kahului, with one case each in Lahaina and Wailuku. Most of the incidents were reported at public places including malls, businesses and public parking lots.

There were three incidents in Kahului, and once case each in Haiku, Kula and Paia. Most of the incidents were reported at public places including malls, businesses and public parking lots. Types of vehicles involved in the various island incidents included two Dodge Chargers, and a variety of other vehicles.

Vehicles Break-ins on Maui Nov. 6 to 12, 2011

The Wailuku incidents were both reported at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, at the Hawaii Nature Center in Iao Valley.

Types of vehicles involved included two Ford Rangers, a Ford Festiva, Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler mini van, and Dodge Charger.

There were a total of 17 vehicle thefts and 10 vehicle break-ins on Maui in the third week of October. The incidents were spread over different areas of the island between October 16th and 22nd.

There were a total of 13 vehicle thefts and 14 vehicle break-ins on Maui in the second week of October. The highest concentration was in Kihei where four thefts and three break-ins were reported over six days.
