MUSIC DUO HAPA PERFORMS FOR MACC’S HO’ONANEA

The slack-key guitar/vocal team of Barry Flanagan and Nathan Aweau, known together as HAPA, return to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center as part of the Ho’onanea Series.
After sweeping the 1994 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, HAPA has remained at the forefront of Hawaiian music with a fusion of sounds: from strummed ballads to modern acoustic folk/rock, and sweet contemporary mele.
HAPA performs Friday, February 27th at 7:30 p.m. at the Castle Theater along with special guests Eric Gilliom, Ernie Cruz Jr., chant by Charles Ka’upu and the hula stylings of Malia Peterson.
Ho`onanea Series pre-show festivities start at 5:30 pm in the courtyard, featuring Hawaiian arts and crafts, hula and music, food and beverage selections.
Tickets for HAPA are $12, $28, and $37 (half price for kids 12 and under), and with a discount available to MACC annual donors.
