The National Weather Service in Honolulu  has issued a High Surf ADVISORY for Maui’s North Shore, which means that beach-goers are urged to stay out of the water and away from shore during the advisory period.

Waves are expected to drop below advisory standards at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, but another larger swell is due on Tuesday evening.

The National Weather Service will continue to monitor the situation and may issue a High Surf WARNING for the arrival of the next swell.
