Satellite Offices to Extend Hours Amid Flood Repairs at Kahului DMVMarch 10, 2016, 5:12 PM HST · Updated March 11, 6:05 AM 0 Comments
Because of storm damage to the Kahului Service Center, the Department of Finance will be extending the hours of operation at its satellite offices of the Division of Motor Vehicles and Licensing, in order to accommodate more customers.
Starting Monday, March 14, 2016, hours of operation of the Pukalani, Kīhei and Lahaina DMVL satellite offices will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The satellite offices will also open for a half-day on Saturdays, starting on March 19th, from 8 a.m. to noon.
County officials say heavy rains earlier this week flooded the DMVL Kahului Service Center at the Maui Mall, causing electrical and structural damage and forcing the center’s closure on Wednesday. Flooding was also reported at the Kahului Service Center on Feb. 17, 2016.
Due to the severity of the flood damage and electrical repairs that need to be made, there is currently no time estimate as to when the Kahului service center will reopen.
