Looking Ahead
Our weather is expected to be generally dry for the next few days, but a disturbance near the Big Island of Hawaii is forecast to linger through the weekend. This trough produced enough instability for some heavy showers over the Kona slopes last night so afternoon showers on the Big Island may remain active the next few days. Early next week, a more stable atmosphere is forecast over the islands bringing breezy trade winds. A band of showers along the remnants of an old front if expected to move over the islands Monday night and bring an increase in windward showers through mid-week.
Today
Partly sunny with scattered windward showers and little to no rainfall for leeward spots. High temperatures from 83° to 88°. Northeast winds around 15 to 20 mph.
UV index at 9 (“very high” exposure level)
Tonight
Northeast winds around 15 mph. Partly cloudy skies with scattered windward showers and isolated showers for leeward areas. Low temperatures from 71° to 77°.
