The Department of Public Works will begin roadwork in Haʻikū that has been delayed due to bad weather.

The roadwork will begin at the intersection of Awalau and Kaupakalua Roads. Crews will be working on the road from Oct. 8 to Oct. 23, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The department is asking that drivers are attentive, patient, and expect traffic delays during work hours.

Crews will not be working on the weekends or holidays. The department will directly notify residents of the area who will have limited access to and from their homes within the work zone. The road work will involve asphalt resurfacing, leveling, and overlay.

More information about this project is available by contacting the Makawao Highways Division at (808) 876-4535.
