Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.

Attention pastry chefs, bakers and candlestick…er…. candy makers: DaJam 98.3, Maui Now and Makena Beach and Golf Resort are sponsoring their first-ever dessert-making contest.
The public is invited to create an original (pumpkin pies, pfeffernussen and gingerbread men need not apply) sweet holiday confection to enter into the competition.
The winner will receive an overnight stay and complementary dining at Makena Beach and Golf Resort’s Christmas Day Brunch or Dinner for four, a prize package worth over $600.
Moreover, the resort states that the “winning dessert will be immortalized on our Molokini Bar & Grill dinner dessert menu for a year.”
To enter, plan to bring your fully-cooked and hopefully winning entry to Makena’s Sunday Brunch at the Molokini Bar & Grille Sunday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. where a panel of judges will taste, choose and announce one winner.
There is no cost to enter, but contestants must be 18 years of age or represented by an adult.
The dishes must be original recipes and/or must have sufficient deviance from staple desserts and may not contain any unlawful or suspicious substances and ingredients. No funny brownies, Alice.
Further inquiries in regard to the contest can be submitted to the Makena Beach & Golf Resort public relations coordinator at (808) 875-5818.
