Maui Police Seek Help: Investigating Alleged Attack at Rainbow Mall

Maui police are investigating an alleged attack in which a woman was reportedly injured at the Rainbow Mall in Kīhei on Monday night, Sept. 28, 2015.

Police say the attack occurred at about 7 p.m. on the north-facing, Kahului side, of the main mall building, located at 2439 South Kīhei Road.

According to Maui police, the woman was allegedly attacked and held against her will by a man she didn’t know.  Police say the woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from the Maui Memorial Medical Center emergency room.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity, or who may have information on the suspect and the crime to call Detective Mark Hada at (808)875-5410.

Individuals wishing to remain anonymous can call CrimeStoppers at (808) 242-6966. Callers to CrimeStoppers remain anonymous and are given a code number. Maui CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of persons responsible for felony crimes; the recovery of stolen property or seizure of illegal drugs in felony cases; or the capture of felony fugitives.

Police advise the public that they should consider all wanted persons as dangerous. The public is advised not to approach, follow or take other action that could put themselves in danger.
