Police Seek Help in Alleged Credit Card Theft Case in Waikapū
Police say an unknown male depicted in the attached photographs allegedly attempted to use a stolen cards at an ATM located at Bank of Hawaii Wailuku branch on Main Street.
Maui Crime Log: 15 Burglaries, 29 Vehicle Break-ins
There was a spike in vehicle break-ins with five incidents reported just before 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at East Uahi Way off of Waikō Road in Waikapū near American Electric Co.

Maui police responded to 31 burglaries, 11 vehicle thefts, and 15 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between July 20 and 26, 2014. The list includes 13 burglaries in Kīhei alone, most of them at condo and apartment units. The greatest number of car thefts was also in Kīhei, where three vehicles were stolen, two of them from the Kīhei Villages area off of Uwapo Road.

Maui police say 16 assorted cut gems were taken, primarily sapphires and emeralds worth an estimated $5,000.
