A 78-year-old Molokaʻi man was transported via medevac to Oʻahu after suffering critical injuries in an ATV accident involving three men in the mountainous terrain above Kaunakakai. The two other men, both 72-year-old Molokaʻi residents, sustained minor injuries.

A 25-year-old Arizona man suffered injuries to his hip, lower back and arm after slipping and falling during a hike in the mountains of East Maui, Monday afternoon.

Maui fire crews airlifted two individuals from ʻĪao Valley State Monument who were stranded and unable to cross the river due to fast flowing and rising water Monday evening.  

Three individuals were airlifted from ʻĪao Valley State Park on Thursday evening. The rescued individuals included: a 34-year-old Lahaina man, a 27-year-old Texas man, and a 14-year-old girl from Texas.

Two hikers were airlifted to safety Tuesday evening after becoming lost on the Kahakapao Trail in Makawao.

A 38-year-old Lahaina man suffered serious injuries during a fall at Halemau’u Trail in Haleakalā National Park Tuesday afternoon.

All three were transported by the Emergency Medical Service for treatment of injuries. Fire officials say one woman suffered lacerations, one had an arm injury, and the man had injuries to his head and neck. All were described as visitors in their mid-20s.

Eight visitors were airlifted to safety this evening after becoming stranded by rising waters at Makamakaʻole Gulch on Maui. Those rescued included three juveniles and one adult male from Oregon and a group of four (two men and two women) from Illinois.

A 21-year-old Kahului man had attempted to jump into a pond from approximately 60-feet, and suffered injuries to the lower portion of both of his legs.
