Hawaiʻi Island police met with Kamehameha Schools administrators on Hawaiʻi Island, who reported that a former employee of the school embezzled more than $360,000 over a period of approximately three years.

Police have since confirmed that hunters discovered human remains wrapped in plastic, according to Maui Police Department spokesperson Alana Pico. The investigation remains ongoing. 

Officer Daniel Imakyure was arrested. He has been employed by the Maui Police Department since November 2009 and was attached to the Moloka’i Patrol District..

The presentation will be offered on two different dates: Monday, Sept. 24 at the Kīhei Community Center; and Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Wailuku Community Center.  Both presentations will be held at 5 p.m.

At mid-morning on Friday, April 28, graffiti was found painted on rocks within the Mauna Kea Ice Age Natural Area Reserve.

Maui police are requesting the public’s help in locating Micheal Roy Soto Jr. and Sandra M. Kahikina who are wanted for questioning in an ongoing criminal investigation.
