Maui AgFest happening today: complete entertainment and event lineup, road advisory

The 16th MauiAgFest & 4-H Livestock Fair takes place today at the War Memorial Special Events Field. As crews set up tents, booths and tables, a special route has been planned to ease entry and exit from the War Memorial site. Organizers have also released a full lineup of entertainment for the day.

DHHL to lead ʻKūhiō Kākouʻ unity rally

The Department of Hawaiian Homes Lands will lead a public rally on Tuesday, March 25, to honor Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole, recognize legislative efforts aimed at decreasing DHHL’s waitlist, and promote support for proposed legislation.

UH Maui College Open House Fair, April 26

The University of Hawaiʻi Maui College will host an Open House Fair on Friday, April 26 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the Kahului campus Great Lawn and Pā‘ina Building dining area.

Homestead nonprofit partners with DHHL to serve waitlisted Hawaiians

Under a memorandum of agreement executed this month, Hawaiian Lending & Investments will administer Department of Hawaiian Home Lands matching down payment assistance grants of up to $5,000 to eligible DHHL beneficiaries toward the cost to build or purchase a home on Hawaiian Home Lands.  

Akakū hosting Community Connection Day on Jan. 12

Radio and TV personality Kathy Collins is hosting Akakū Maui Community Media’s free 2024 Community Connection Day, with live entertainment from Homestead, on Jan. 12 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

2023 Hawaiʻi International Film Festival returns to Maui, Oct. 27-29

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents a return to Maui of the Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF) with six feature films, a program of six short films, and a showcase of four documentaries. All screenings will take place in the MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater starting Friday, Oct. 27 and concluding Sunday, Oct. 29.
