TY Management Corporation, owner of Kapalua Golf, reaffirmed its commitment to the Maui community with a $750,000 donation for more than 10 local nonprofit organizations during a celebration event at Hale Makua Health Services in Kahului on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The state water commission is trying to decide who should get permits to use water in West Maui, with 93 existing use permits and 48 new applications under review.

Maui junior golfers enjoyed a chance to play the Kapalua Plantation Golf Course on Sunday, before today’s (Nov. 10, 2025) reopening. The course has been closed since Sept. 2, 2025. Sunday’s event hosted approximately 48 golfers between the ages of 10-17. 

Kapalua Golf’s Plantation Course will reopen for play on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025. The golf course has been closed since Sept. 2, 2025 to allow Kapalua Golf’s agronomy team to restore turf health following prolonged irrigation restrictions.

Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc. has filed a countersuit against Kapalua Golf Courses and Luxury Homes alleging “misinformation” on water use and drought conditions. MLP says TY Management, owner of the Kapalua golf courses chose “false claims,” and says the countersuit was filed in an effort to “set the record straight.”

The Hawaiʻi State Senate is urging PGA officials to find a home for The Sentry in Hawaiʻi after last week’s announcement that the tournament would not hold the event at the Plantation Course at Kapalua in 2026. The decision comes after 27 years on Maui and was attributed to “ongoing drought conditions, water conservation requirements, agronomic conditions and logistical challenges.”

This difficult decision was made due to ongoing drought conditions and severe water conservation requirements impacting the island.

Kapalua Golf donated $500,000 to nonprofit, Aloha Puʻu Kukui, to expand restoration of the West Maui Puʻu Kukui watershed. This contribution builds upon an initial $500,000 donation in February 2024 for a total of $1 million donated to date that will fund increased restoration efforts including invasive plant removal and native forest replanting, among other initiatives.

As The Sentry returns to Maui for the PGA TOUR’s Opening Drive, tournament officials in collaboration with SERVPRO announced the return of complimentary ticket programs for first responders and military. The Plantation Course at Kapalua will once again play host to the TOUR’s season-opening event from January 2-5, 2025.

The Sentry welcomes PGA TOUR winners from the previous calendar year and the top 50 players from the final FedExCup Playoffs and Eligibility Points List when the event returns to The Plantation Course at Kapalua, Maui from Jan. 2-5, 2025.

The Living Pono Project has received more than $650,000 to support the nonprofit’s preservation efforts of the Pu‘u Kukui Watershed, the largest private nature preserve in Hawaiʻi.
