The Maui Fire Department responded to seven fire-related calls in the period between 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4 and 7:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5. No fireworks related injuries were reported.

A fire off of Hōkiokio Place in West Maui burned an estimated 3/4 of an acre of light brush on Tuesday night and forced the temporary closure of the road for about an hour overnight.

A mid-day brush fire in Lahaina on Friday burned an estimated five acres before being brought under control. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
