Maui OnStage has announced its 2026 theater season, a rich lineup of five productions ranging from classic mysteries to family-friendly musicals and a world premiere by a local playwright.

ProArts Playhouse in Kīhei will open its holiday production of “The Reluctant Elf” on Dec. 5, with performances running select days through Dec. 14 at its theater in Azeka Plaza.

Maui OnStage will hold open auditions for “The Rocky Horror Show” on Friday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Historic ʻĪao Theater in Wailuku.

Theatre Theatre Maui will present Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.” as its 33rd annual summer youth musical from July 17 to 20 at the Bozich Center for Athletics and Performing Arts in Nāpili. Showtimes are Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m., with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is highlighting its growing community of performing arts studios with a lineup of performances and programs open to the public throughout May. 

Seabury Hall Performing Arts will close its season with the return of “Side Shows: A Festival of One-Act Plays,” now in its 29th year.

Seabury Hall’s Performing Arts Department will present its 37th annual Dance Showcase this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the ʻAʻaliʻikūhonua Creative Arts Center.

Coming up next in MAPA’s Living Room is the comedy “Love, Loss, and What I Wore,” written by Nora and Delia Ephron and based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman.

Featuring music from “Hamilton,” “Mary Poppins,” “Mamma Mia!,” “Grease” and more, this high-energy concert promises to transport audiences into the magic of musical theater.

Maui OnStage invites the community to experience a spectacular musical celebration of legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim at “Saturday with Sondheim.”

Thanks to the Wave of Harmony Foundation’s, kids 12 and under receive free entry to a Dr. Seuss extravaganza that performs at the Historic ‘Iao Theater in Wailuku from July 12 through Aug. 4.

The Maui Academy of Performing Arts presents its latest production, “The Lion in Winter,” with performances Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 and Dec. 14 to 17. This classic play, set during the reign of King Henry II, features Broadway veterans Paul Jackel and Peggy Harmon, along with Jefferson Davis, Shane Borge, Rocco Dahl, Mehra Park and Joseph Duncan.

Maui Preparatory Academy will present Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” at the Bozich Center for Athletics and Performing Arts on Nov. 17, 18, and 19.

Noah Haidle’s play, “Birthday Candles,” directed by David C. Johnston and featuring a talented cast of Maui actors, will take center stage at the Maui Academy of Performing Arts from Oct. 6 to 22.

Performances of the musical will be Nov. 11-13 and 18-20 at Seabury Hall’s ʻAʻaliʻikūhonua Creative Arts Center in Makawao.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center added the Brown Chicken Brown Cow String Band to its schedule of free Live @ the MACC concerts taking place on the Castle Theater stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 15. The concert will be streamed on the MACC website as well as its Facebook, YouTube pages and on Akaku Channel 55.

Live @ the MACC’s virtual free concert series continues Saturday, March 20, with singer and songwriter Lily Meola performing from the Castle Theater stage with special guests Lukas Nelson and Matt Meola.

All male a capella group Straight No Chaser will be performing at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2019.
