$60,800 improvement project at Puaʻa Kaʻa State Wayside set to start April 21
A rehabilitation project to improve facilities at the Puaʻa Kaʻa State Wayside, a scenic rest stop and picnic area on Maui’s Hāna Highway, is set to begin on Monday, April 21 and run through May 12, 2025.
Maui Traffic: Hāna Highway Night Work at Wailua Valley
Night work begins on the Hāna Highway in the Wailua Valley area of East Maui this week. The work to repair an existing drainage crossing will result in a road closure between the Wailua Valley Lookout near mile marker 19 and Puaʻa Kaʻa State Park at Mile 22.
Vehicle Takes 60-Foot Plunge off Hāna Highway
Three women were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition, after the vehicle they were in traveled off the side of the Hāna Highway and plunged 60-feet into a ravine in East Maui, officials said.
