A 49-year-old woman was transported to the hospital in stable condition on Tuesday afternoon after the truck she was operating struck the concrete base of the Wailuku Bridge, officials said.

The vehicle struck the guardrail; and then became impaled by the guardrail–which went through the front windshield and exited through the back windshield. The 22-year-old woman driving the car was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center with non-life-threatening head injuries
