There is a very large standing dead tree adjacent to the County water tank located on the corner of Kilohana and Kapili in Kīhei. Should the tree fall during a windstorm, it will cause significant damage to the water tank and/or serious injury to anyone passing by.

I’ve heard that Maui County gives out water-saving devices for free. If that’s the case how come they don’t give some to their own parks department?

Safety check is here again. My question is regarding stickers on front and rear windshields. If it’s illegal for stickers on the front or rear windshield, why isn’t it an issue for those vehicles with SHOPO (Police Officers’ Union) and IAFF (Firefighter’ Union) stickers?

With new infestations of the Little Fire Ants, and with Maui Invasive Species Committee Manager Teya Penniman being quoted as saying they “clearly don’t have enough resources to stop it,” is the County having any immediate success getting more funds?

Kaloko-Honokōhau National Park was (and is) dominated by alien plants. And, these plants are having negative impacts on the National Park’s resources including their anchialine ponds and fish ponds.

Recently I visited the wildlife refuge and Hawaiian cultural site in Waihee. Where I parked, people were enjoying themselves and a few were hitting golf balls into the ocean. Later, I saw dozens of golf balls washed in by the tide along the shore. I’d like to know, is hitting golf balls into the ocean legal?

Why is the Kula Forest Reserve / Polipoli still closed? There has been ample time for cleanup and repair. I realize Polipoli is not a money-maker for the County, but it is one of the best places on the island and is about the only truly public hunting area on the island

I know a smoking ban was passed on Maui and I’m wondering when that is going to be enforced?

I’m sad to see the 3-Can Plan going away in my neighborhood. What does the County plan to do with the green waste and recycling containers? If they are going to trash them, can citizens keep these to use on their own?

Are there any restrictions on transporting kayaks on one’s car or truck? I’ve seen some cars that have a kayak that extends at least 5 feet in both the front and rear of the vehicle.
