Man Stabbed in Bathroom at Queen Kaahumanu

[flashvideo file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSxhbEFA84E /] Maui police have launched an investigation into a knife assault reported Friday morning at the Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center in Kahului.

Authorities say the incident was reported at around 10:05 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011, in the male restroom near the men’s department of Macy’s.

According to Maui Police, the victim was in the bathroom, with his back turned to the responsible, when he felt what he described to police as a punch in the back.  When he turned around, the responsible was reportedly standing with a knife in his hand.  According to police reports, the victim yelled out, and the suspect fled through Macy’s.

Authorities say a suspect has not been detained at this time. The suspect was described as a male in his early to mid 20’s.

The case has been classified as an assault in the first degree.
