East Waiko Road is now open in both directions. A portion of the roadway was temporarily closed earlier this morning due to a traffic accident reported at 5:22 a.m.

Motorists traveling in the Central Maui area this morning are advised of a traffic accident on East Waiko Road in Waikapu.

The accident was reported at 5:22 a.m. Maui police have closed East Waiko between the Honoapiilani Highway and Pakana Street.
