2012 Lahaina Halloween Nets 13 Arrests

A total of 13 people were arrested for various offenses during the Halloween in Lahaina festivities along Front Street last night, police said.

The arrests included three instances of disorderly conduct, 16 drug related offenses, and four drinking violations, according to Maui Police Lt. Ricky Uedoi from the Lahaina District.

According to Lt. Uedoi, a single citation was issued for drinking within the historical district.

Lt. Uedoi estimated the crowd at 28,000 people, and said the event was staffed by about 100 officers.

The breakdown of arrests included 12 males and 1 female with a total of 23 charges between them.  Authorities say none of the arrests involved juveniles.

Front Street was reopened at around 11:30 p.m. on October 31, 2012.
