Mayor’s TV Show to Discuss Maui Bond Rating

Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa hosts the next edition of his one-hour TV show entitled, “Your County with Mayor Arakawa,” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

The live program features Mayor Arakawa, Finance Director Danny Agsalog, and Budget Director Sandy Baz.  The topic of discussion will be the county’s recent bond-rating and issuance.

Last month, bond rating agencies gave Maui County scores, that were recognized as the highest bond ratings in the state.

Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch rated Maui County Aa1/AA+/AA+, higher than any other county in the State of Hawai’i.

A media release from Fitch Ratings stated that Maui County’s “prudent fiscal management resulted in “strong financial performance.”

The live talk show will be broadcast on Akaku Channel 53. Viewers can ask questions by calling 873-3430, or submit questions during the show via Twitter at @CountyofMaui and through Maui County’s Facebook page.

The show will re-air on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. on November 14-28 on the same channel.
