Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista, will be in Lahaina this afternoon to sign copies of their books.

In his Nov. 4 release, Breakout ($27.95), Newt Gingrich “proposes a bold vision of America’s future: the country on the cusp of a technological and scientific renaissance that will transform the quality of life of every American, unless special interest groups, powerful lobbyists, and government bureaucrats prevent these innovations.”

Newt’s wife, Callista, has authored three children’s books featuring Ellis the Elephant. The first two – Sweet Land of Liberty and Land of the Pilgrims’ Pride, made the The New York Times Best Seller list of Children’s Picture Books.

Her latest, Yankee Doodle Dandy ($14.95) was released in early October. In the book, Ellis the Elephant “introduces young children to the story of the American Revolution— from the Boston Tea Party to Paul Revere’s midnight ride, from our victory at Yorktown to George Washington’s declaration that he would not be king.”

The event takes place at 2 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble Lahaina, located at 325 Keawe St. #101.
