Maui police have made an arrest in connection with a murder investigation into the death of a Molokaʻi man found on a dirt road in a remote area of the island on Tuesday.
Jeffrey K. Davis, 39, was placed under arrest on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at around 12:37 p.m., according to Maui Police Sergeant Audra Sellers.
According to Maui police, Davis has no local address, and was in custody, but had not been formally charged at last report.
Maui police are investigating the death of Koshari Kahikili, 20, of Mapulehu, Molokaʻi, who was found by a passing moped operator, lying unresponsive on the road with an apparent head injury.
Police say the death is considered suspicious and had planned to fly Kahikili’s body to Maui for an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing.
