A 26-year-old Lahaina man is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail after being charged in the alleged stabbing of a 64-year-old Lahaina woman on Saturday.

Jacobs Khoi Duong Duy was charged with second degree attempted murder at 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, according to Maui Police.

The charges stem from an incident reported at around 9:04 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014.

The female victim was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

Maui police could not say if the suspect knew the victim or what the circumstances were surrounding the incident.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
