No Tsunami Threat From Solomon Islands’ Earthquake

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported that there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in the Solomon Islands on Thursday at 6:13 p.m.

United States Geological Survey officials said the earthquake was located 96 south-southwest of Dadali, Solomon Islands; 103 miles west of Honiara, Solomon Islands; 292 miles southeast of Arawa, Papua New Guinea; 545 miles southeast of Kokopo, Papua New Guinea; and 551 miles east of Alotau, Papua New Guinea.
